YouTube Enables More Specific Data Context with New Performance Chart Filters

Data makes the world go round. The more of it we have, the better the content we can create. YouTube understand this concept and as such have added a new advanced analytics option to YouTube Studio, enabling marketers to visualise the performance of their uploads by the focus of each.

Comparative Performance

The new advanced analytics option is intended to help provide more context to the comparative performance of each video clip. As seen in the image below, you can now view a scatter graph of all your videos and compare their performance on variable timelines.

This newly introduced element enables users to also select an option ‘Show videos with similar topics’ from the plot display. This will then morph the graph to display a specific listing of uploads pertaining to the same subject/topic.

What Does This Mean for Marketers?

The addition of new filters within the advanced analytics option means that marketers can get a better comparison of video performance due to the fact that they’re now able to compare more like-for-like clips, as opposed to comparing each video against every other.

Marketers can display up to 100 videos at once in the chart, sorting the list by ‘First 24 hours’, ‘First 7 days’ or ‘First 28 days’.

How to Access YouTube Video Performance Chart

To access your YouTube video performance chart, go to: ‘Channel analytics’ > ‘Advanced Mode’ > ‘Compare to’> ‘First 24 hours video performance’.
